DREAMS

“Sometimes I actually want to 're-member' the image through a more representational drawing or painting. When I do this, I don’t want to feel bound by my capacity or incapacity to draw. I still have trouble unprying the talons of my judging mind; they instinctively rip at the soft underbelly of my self-acceptance and creativity. One way I loosen their grip is to use my non-dominant hand or both hands. Then I can’t even try to paint or draw 'well'.”

Tips for Journaling Visions/ Dreams/Synchronicities/Tarot Readings to help Communication with Divine Energies and Intuition:

  1. Always write down your impressions and images spontaneously. Write down

  2. Even those ideas you started to reject; don't censor any thoughts or feelings you had in the vision.

  3. Be free, open, and expressive. Don't worry about spelling and punctuation.

  4. Criticism and editing have no place here.

  5. If you write something that seems to be wrong in the moment you write it, put a single line through it, so it can still be read. You may find that comment in a different light in retrospect.

  6. (if you write you dreams on paper) If you are right-handed, try writing with your left. This may help to free you from any rigidity you're experiencing.

  7. If you get stuck, and feel like you're forgetting a dream or meditation. Write the last word over and over again or close your eyes and bring the focus of your eyes to the middle of your forhead and wait to see if other parts of the vision come.

  8.  Allow yourself to fantasize and go into uncharted spaces.Being wacky and allow your  Into uncharted terrirorities. Suprise yourself.

  9. You can also use these exercises with any creative exercise. Maybe you don't free write and instead you want to dance or draw. Pick whatever medium you'd like.

Tips for Dreaming:

  1. Turn off digital devices/distractions at least one hour before bed.

  2. Write a note to yourself in the moon journal or your phone before going to sleep, maybe a brief note  about why you want to remember  in simple words “dream note for (date)”

  3. Put the pen in the page and keep  journal next to bed if you write these out on paper. You can also write them out in your note sections on your phone

  4. As you’re falling asleep try to stay with your intention to rememebr. If you have struggle an added layer is “store” your intention to remember in parts of your body, bringing your awareness to each part and remembering your intention.

  5. As you’re waking up out of the dream- it could be in the middle of the night -stay still and be with the dream. You may want to keep your eyes closed and image focusing your gaze onto the middle of your forehead. Repeat it to yourself, remembering the images and the feelings. Go over it a few times. And THEN turn on the light and record it in the present tense.

  6. Consider journaling about dream after. How did it feel in your body? What connections feel present? What felt scary challenging? What questions do you have ? Give yourself space to be with the experience in your body.
